The highlight of the show is the Samoan Fire-knife dance, known as the "Tooth of Death". In the original interpretation, this dance was performed with a dangerously sharp blade.
The story behind the dance is of a Samoan chief making a movie for Hollywood many years ago. He decided to include the flaming torch in his part to make the dance more spectacular.
The show also includes the energetic Samoan Slap Dance, a traditional display of male prowess. True to the name, the dancers slap their chests, arms and legs repeatedly throughout this segment. For Samoan men, this was an opportunity to demonstrate their bravery and courage.

Fun cultural experience.
I was surprised to see low reviews because I had a wonderful time. The entire staff is very friendly and the show was a lot of fun. The food is fine too

An amazing luau with extremely nice and friendly staff! A beautiful location on the beach with great food!
A fun time!
We had a wonderful time at this. I had been back in the 80s and brought my family this time. We opted for the transportation from the hotel. It's a nice review of history and culture. There was a large variety of foods for everyone to try and enjoy. At the end, my teenage son (who didn't consider I was behind him) exclaimed, "That was awesome!" This was a great way to start our vacation.
This was by far the most exciting part of my trip. I give the reviews 10 out of 10. When all of the different cultures came out and did their tribal dance in their tribal outfits. Amazing. The girl that did the love dance was so beautiful
Great Luau! Great food, great show, great transport. We sat on wooden picnic benches so my tiny butt was starting to hurt. Husband and I got up to walk around and the show ended not long after that. Thought it was good timing.
If you’re gonna book, here’s a tip: keep your god dang cell phone down. There is no need to record the entire performance. You’re never going to watch it and it really sucks for the people behind you. Instead of watching the show, we watched it though the lens of other peoples cell phones. SMH
