Overview

- We are the only bike tour company that still bikes all the way to Sea Level, into the town of Paia.

- We do not offer self guided & unguided tours, they are not safe, most locals despise them, and they make all bike tours look bad.

- All of our helmets are light weight and comfortable, they also meet the highest level of quality and the highest level of safety. You'll cringe when you see the clunky, junky helmets other downhill bikers are given. You may choose to use a full face helmet, or a traditional half shell.

- Our tour is focused on quality and not quantity, unlike our competitors that herd dozens, even hundreds of bikers on a daily basis.

- We easily have the best safety record on Haleakala.

- We have great humor, and we're very modest.

- All of our bikes are hand built in the USA, have very comfortable 13" padded seats with a spring for each cheek.

What To Expect

Haleakala Highway (Crater Road)
This is a 25 mile, guided downhill bike tour along the slopes of Haleakala, entirely on paved roadways.

We are the safest and most experienced guides on Maui.

You'll ride on a comfy, custom-built bike from 6,500 feet all the way down to sea level.

We provide high quality helmets for your protection.

Starting outside of Haleakala National Park, you'll ride through an expansive open cattle ranch with bi-coastal views of Maui (clouds permitting), the quaint towns of Kula, Makawao and ending in the center of Paia Town.

A chase van blocks cars, so you are able to ride in the middle of the lane on the roadways. Using our coordinated traffic system, cars will never be directly behind you when you are on the bike.

We stop along the way to take pictures, talk about the history of the area, pet horses, snack on local food, laugh, etc.

You will be able to enjoy the ride at a pace you're comfortable with, to the extent that it is a safe speed.

Makawao
Located on the mid-slopes of Maui’s Haleakalā volcano, Makawao has one foot in its plantation past and another in its thriving arts community. This charming town was once named one of the top 25 arts destinations in the United States.

Makawao is the biggest little town in the region locally known as Upcountry Maui and is famous for its Hawaiian cowboys, or paniolo. Since the late 19th century, horseback-riding paniolo have wrangled cattle in Maui’s wide-open upland fields. The Makawao Rodeo, held yearly on the Fourth of July, is Hawaiʻi's largest paniolo competition and has been an Upcountry tradition for more than 50 years. The weekend events include a parade and traditional rodeo competitions such as barrel racing, calf roping and bareback bronco riding, all with a few Hawaiian twists.

Holy Rosary Church
Holy Rosary church is unique in the Islands for its use of concrete bricks with cast-stone details. It is fireproof throughout, with only its doors and pews made of wood. An imposing edifice, the church features an elegant, seventy-foot-high rear-corner bell tower and front-window tracery. Cast-stone ornamentation, including corbel-arched openings, portico finials, and the stepped gable's baldachin and Celtic cross, contributes to the overall attractiveness of the building. Inside, Tudor-arched clerestory windows and ornate hammer beam trusses adorn the nave. Stained-glass windows are the work of the M. Barry firm of Brussels, Belgium. The hand carved hardwood altar and stations of the cross were produced on site by Brothers Sylvester and Wenceslaus of the Order of the Sacred Heart. These craftsmen also repaired and renovated the nineteenth-century carved wooden statuary which came from Holy Rosary's predecessor, a church dating to the 1880s at Kuau.

Paia
In a nutshell: An unassuming hub of the North Shore community, Paia Town has great restaurants, interesting shops, and the best natural food store on the island.

Old-west-style building facades painted in a patchwork of pastel colors greet you as you pull into Paia, and at first impression, the small T-shaped stretch of quaint shops and restaurants is reminiscent of a funky 60’s California beach town.
