What To Expect

Te Au Moana Luau
Te Au Moana, translated as  the ocean tide, has always been a constant throughout Oceania, connecting our islands, peoples and generations. Our Polynesian ancestors traversed these oceans tides for ages and revered them for their life sustaining properties. Their stories, which spoke of their expert skills in fishing, gathering and voyaging demonstrated the tremendous depths of knowledge and respect they had to the Earth and its elements. As Hawaii’s premier entertainment company, Tihati Productions endeavors to bring these stories to life at “Te Au Moana: The Ocean Tide”. We invite you to  dine as the ocean sits peacefully before you, as it has for thousands of years. We ask you to  dance under the Maui skies; the moon and stars await you and we hope that you  discover all the fascinating stories at “Te Au Moana: The Ocean Tide” a spectacular lu’au experience like no other!

Amazing Luau

I enjoyed it so much. It was our first time in Hawaii and friends and family were encouraging us to experience a Luau while in Hawaii so we looked and looked and came across this one. It is pretty expensive but completely worth it. They give you a specific time to show up by before the luau begins in order to follow COVID regulations. They have an open bar that last 2 and a half hours, TRY THE LAVA FLOW. They have cute entertainment before the show starts, they give you a temporary tattoo if you want one, and help you create a bookmark as well. You also receive a lei and can take pictures in front of the sunset. The entertainment is amazing and they have some amazing singers, dancers, and performers. Unlike most Luau's, they do not have just a buffet in the back that you have to walk to once your table is chosen to go grab food, they give your table a personal waiter/waitress that brings you your meals one by one. Remember, you get three courses and the food is plentiful. They place it in the middle of the table that has a rotating center so anyone on the table can choose what food they want. It's nice interacting with everyone in the table as well, everyone is from different areas of the world and have arrived their for a specific reason. Overall, the experience was amazing and as our first experience of a Luau, we would definitely go again someday.
Great show great service

The dinner, service and show were all excellent. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. Our server was friendly and helpful. The bartenders were helpful. The show was fun and really well done. This was my girlfriends first Luau and I’m really glad this was the one. It’s the best one I’ve seen. Thank you!
Pick a buffet luau and get more choices and hot food.

The location was lovely with the sea and sunset as a backdrop. Staff was very friendly. The show involved the same dancers changing costumes and dancing again. The MC explained Hawaiian traditions and culture but I found it difficult to understand her. To me the show was not thrilling or dazzling although the 2 fire dancers were good. They do not cook a pig in front of you but run down the aisle with a fully cooked pig, which I doubt was served to us for dinner because the food came out minutes later. The food was terrible, served family style to each table and included platters of each, chicken, fish, pork, beef, vegetables, salad, rice and bread. All the food was cold and the meats were dry with no flavor. I was disappointed not to receive the traditional flower lei, instead we received a lei of beads that looked like milk duds.
